Graphite drawing and oil paint on primed MDF 32.5cm x 26cm 2012
Reginald’s practice explores themes of globalization, emigration, and destruction of tradition - intentionally or otherwise –through development and modernisation.
The detailed drawings of South Indian Hindu temples are examples of Dravidian architecture looming out from the undergrowth, but they are not ‘ruins’, they are still active places of worship. Coupled with a sensuous and delicate use of enamel paint create an alluring relationship between drawing and painting.
